Those nasty fleas By Janet Zurr Oh those nasty fleas! I knock on wood that we have never had fleas on any of our pets to my knowledge. And from the sound of it you would know if you did have fleas. Apparently once you get them, they will just invade your home both inside and out and of course they go after your poor pets too. The best advice I can give you is not to get them in the first place. We have been fortunate so far. If you are in an area where there is a lot of dog traffic, you might want to take some preventative measures. You can try flea collars, flea shampoos and dips. I urge you to be extremely careful with the collars and the dips, most of this stuff is quite toxic. Be sure and treat the inside of the house as well as the outside using sprays or foggers. You have to vacuum repeatedly to get the fleas out and then toss, burn or destroy the vacuum bags. Remember if your using sprays or foggers, absolutely no animals, children or fish in the house. Stop and think before you start this process, please.
